Why We Are Automating

The automation investment is an operational quality decision. Manual assembly processes introduce variability at exactly the stages where variability creates the most risk: meal build accuracy, cart loading consistency, and provisioning throughput under high-volume departure schedules.

Automation eliminates the category of error. A beverage build robot that receives exact specifications from our proprietary platform, Scorpio MRP & Logistics, builds to those specifications on the first cart and the three-hundredth. Assembly accuracy does not degrade at hour eight of an overnight shift. Throughput does not vary with staffing levels.

For airline partners, the investment translates into outcomes procurement committees can measure: fewer provisioning discrepancies, more consistent galley configurations, and documented compliance at every stage of the chill-chain.

Automates one of airline catering's most complex, high-volume production processes, enhancing accuracy and operational efficiency.

Collision Avoidance Technology

Guideless catering technology enhances aircraft approach safety through sensor-based monitoring and automated speed-zone enforcement. CAS-equipped catering trucks maintain controlled vehicle movement throughout the approach and automatically stop at a predefined distance from the aircraft structure, providing an additional layer of protection for personnel, equipment, and aircraft.

The system was prototyped at Indianapolis in late 2025, where both operators preferred the guided approach over traditional ground guides. Fleet deployment of CAS-equipped trucks at LAX is scheduled for Q4 2026.

Scorpio: Air Fayre's MRP and Logistics Platform

Scorpio is Air Fayre's proprietary MRP and logistics platform, designed to support the planning, coordination, and execution of airline catering operations.
